Twelve people were injured in a knife attack at a major railway station in Hamburg, Germany, reported by local media.
Three of the victims are reportedly in dangerous conditions, while the other three have been seriously injured.
Police say they arrested the suspect and a major operation is ongoing.
The attack is understood to have occurred at Hamburg’s central station around 18:00 local time on Friday (17:00 BST).
A spokesman for the Hamburg Fire Station told AFP news agency that 12 people have been injured and some of the injured are life-threatening.
In a post from X, Hamburg police said: “The initial findings say several people were injured with a knife at the main station.
“The suspect was arrested by the police.”

Local media reports that the attack occurred near platforms 13 and 14, accessible from busy main roads, but the train was on one of the platforms.
Some of the victims were treated on the train, local media reports.
Photos from the scene show barriers that many emergency service personnel and vehicles on the ground, as well as injured people, appear to be hidden from public places.
One photo used on a local media site shows a man being taken away by paramedics on a stretcher.
Hamburg Central Station is one of Germany’s busiest transport hubs, with over 550,000 travelers per day, according to its website. Friday rush hour is often crowded.
This is the latest violent attack in Germany in recent months.
