The second round field is beginning to take shape in the 2025 NBA playoffs. The 11 teams remain in the playoff bracket, with five teams already moving along: the Thunder, Cavaliers, Pacers, Celtics and Timberwolves. The Timberwolves knocked the Lakers out of the playoffs Wednesday night. The sixth seed Minnesota, led by Anthony Edwards, took care of LeBron James and Luka Doncic in five games.
There are three games 6 in the first round. Knicks-Pistons, Nuggets-Clippers and Rockets-Warriors are 3-2 after five games, with New York, Denver and Golden State one game ahead.
The playoff field will be cut by eight teams by the end of the weekend, with the second round starting on or before Monday, May 5th.
As the NBA playoffs continue, look at the full bracket along with the results and future schedule. Our experts were consistent about all first round series, but as we learned every year, anything can happen in the playoffs.
