The 2025 NFL Draft is here. Not exactly here yet, but we have reached a constantly attractive draft day. This is when extraordinary rumors and rough speculation are thrown out the window in favor of an actual draft topic. Soon there will be answers to many questions asked about this very mystical 2025 draft. .
Let’s make another prediction as we collectively count down a few hours until the Titan officially climbs the clock. Here are some bold last minute predictions for the first round of the draft:
The Bears trade with Ashton Jeanti
Ben Johnson apparently loves to run. Or I think he loves theatre designs featuring Yummy Gibbs, a young, oddly explosive runner in Detroit. And Jeanty is one of several “blue chips” outlooks in this class that directly influenced Chicago’s offense in his second year during his Caleb Williams era, making Johnson even happier.
Jeanty is ranked 10th overall and is not available. The Bears have four top 72 selections. The star, along with GM Ryan Paul (rationally on the hot seat), ascended to the top 7 and promoted to the top 5, picked this explosive runner, with the best contact balance he’s ever scouted.
Of the four major books (Draftkings, Fanduel, BetMgm, and Caesars), all run to Boise as their fifth favorite (Wednesday morning).
James Pierce is the second edge of the board
The expected out-of-field red flag covers two incredibly productive seasons from SEC Pierce, and brings to the incredible training at Combine’s Indianapolis. I’m not completely dismissing widespread rumors. But they could be smoke. Rumors of crazy have been ramping about certain outlooks in the draft.
Pierce is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, so Panthers GM Dan Morgan believes he did his homework in the true background of Pierce since he grew up in the backyard of the Panthers facility.
Despite all the character questions about Pierce, he did not offer any kind of suspension via the Tennessee program or the NCAA. After months of drawing Pierce, it’s shocking as most teams avoid it in the first round, but absolutely deal with the obvious needs at the Carolina Edgerasher position.
There are no Omarion Hamptons in the first round
This is probably my bold prediction, given how much talk there is to make North Carolina the first round pick. Will he be able to go to Denver at 20th overall? of course. Is he a good prospect for Sean Payton and Co. to trade in round one to get his second running back from the board in the most loaded running back class since 2017?
I can’t see it happening. Certainly, number 12 is the Jerry Jones Land Cowboys. The organization is also the Hampton landing site. But isn’t it more important to choose a wide range of receivers to get attention from Cedeelam? So, is it more important? And by the way, Duck Prescott isn’t exactly cheap anymore, so as he’s going into his 30s, it’s far more wise to help him with more help than picking a second running in this draft.
Matthew Goldenland in Dallas with the Cowboys
More cowboys! You can’t have too many cowboys, right? This is like a match made in heaven through the lens of Jerry Jones’ mind. Certainly, he loves the outlook for Arkansas. But a University of Texas recipient? In round 1, oh, did he run 4.29 at the combine?
I couldn’t add any more perfect descriptors for Jerry. Well, the Golden may not be that big. However, the first round is all about traits, and that 40-yard dash time is the ultimate selling point for fans and coaches in the receiver position. Golden didn’t have first-round production until the second half of his final season with Texas, but averaged over four catches per game and earned around 82 yards in the Longhorns’ final eight games.
Vikings choose Tyler Booker
Before the combine, this would not have been considered bold at all. Booker then trained a very low caliber for his guard position. Yes, he’s huge. But even compared to his size, it was a full concern.
I imagine this happening after a small tradeback by Minnesota. And as likely as Booker suggests that it’s too risky for round one, Vikings should simply make touches messy with the trench. If you don’t believe me, rewatch their wildcard playoff losses to the Rams. Los Angeles physically overwhelmed all the Vikings games.
Next to Christian Darrisso and newly acquired Ryan Kelly, Booker developed a rather large left-hand trio at the start of his JJ McCarthy days. Forget about Alabamasher’s combined workouts in this pick.
