A year after signing Saquon Barkley, the Philadelphia Eagles are buying another former New York Giants standout player in free agency. The Eagles have signed former Giants Pass Pass Rush Aziz Odurali on a one-year, $4 million contract announced by the team on Monday.
When healthy, Odurari has proven to be a productive pass rush. The 2021 second round pick, the eight sacks of Odurari that season set up the Giants franchise rookie record. However, the injury limited the availability of Odurari during his final three seasons with the Giants. He missed 10 games in 2022 and six games each of the last two seasons.
Despite the injury that left time missing, Odurari was able to register 5.5 sacks in seven games in 2022, and six sacks in 11 games in 2024. Odurari tallied 22 sacks and 21 tackles in 46 games (and 30 starts) with the Giants, who allowed him to test free agents after finishing his rookie contract last week.
The addition of Odurari will help the Eagles deal with the recent Josh Sweat departure. Josh Sweatt signed a four-year, $76 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals at the start of his free agency. The Eagles recently signed with second-round pick Josh Uche in 2020, and in 2022 he recorded 11.5 bags as a member of the New England Patriots.

To help Odurari succeed, the Giants recently signed former Cowboys defensive end Chauncy Golston, who scored a career-high 5.5 sacks during his final season in Dallas.
