The Toronto Maple Leafs took a big step towards their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2002, leading the defending champions Florida Panthers 2-0. The team was tied to each of three in Game 2 when Mitch Marner scored a tiebreaker goal, and the Leafs never looked back. The series moves to Sunrise, Florida, and the Panthers will return. In other Eastern Cicadas, the top-seeded Washington Capitals fell to the Carolina Hurricane in Game 1 in Game 1 after a Jacobsrabin OT goal, but Tom Wilson and the Crew fought back in Game 2.
