PGA Tour players will have their last chance to tune their game before the PGA Championship as play begins at the 2025 True Players Championship, which begins Thursday at the Wisahi Concourse at the Philadelphia Cricket Club. Truist Championship’s first round T-shirts will start at 11:09am. Rory McIlroy has won the event four times and will be participating in the 2025 Truist Championship as the defending champion. McIlroy will headline the 2025 Truist Championship Field, featuring leading champions such as Justin Thomas, Xander Schaufele, Colin Morakawa and Jordan Spieth.
According to the latest 2025 Truist Championship Odds, McIlroy, who won two of his final four starts on the PGA Tour, is a 4-1 favorite. He follows Morikawa (14-1), Schaufere (16-1), Rudy Abarg (16-1), and Thomas (18-1) on the PGA odds board. McIlroy will be off at +1200 ($100 risk) to become a leader after round 1. The proprietary Sportsline model, built by DFS Pro Mike McClure, has been red hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model has grown over $9,000 with its highest bet since it resumed after the tournament.
This same model nailed a whopping 14 majors over the weekend, including the 2025 Masters (that fourth Masters in a row) and last year’s PGA Championship and the US Open. Anyone who follows Sports Betting Pick has seen massive returns from betting apps like Fanduel, Draftkings, Fanatics and more.

2025 Truist Championship Prediction
It’s one of the big surprises the model is looking for at the 2025 True Players Championship. Two-time PGA Tour champion and one of the top favorites, Ludvig Aberg stumbled this week and won’t crack the top five. Aberg has won one win and three top-10 finishes this season, but he has struggled over the past few weeks, outside of a T-7 finish at the Masters.
Aberg has finished below T-54 in three of his last four starts on the PGA Tour. The inconsistent outcome of 25 years old may be directly attributed to his iron play. Aberg ranks 110th in the strokes he has earned. Approach to Green (-0.068) and Regulation Percentage (63.98%) ranked 135th in Green. He also ranked outside the top 100 with a scoring average (70.79), with strokes earned: putting (-0.248), driving accuracy (58.29%). He’s not a strong choice to win it all, and the 2025 Truist Championship field is much better worth it. Look at the others fade here.
Another surprise: Corey Connors, a 30-1 long shot, runs strong in the title. He is the target of anyone looking for a huge payday, as he has a much better chance than his odds imply.
The Connors certainly have a game that finishes near the top of the leaderboard this week. The 33-year-old has played well this season, securing five top-10 finishes in 11 events. He finished T-8 or higher in four of his last six starts, and this week’s event ranked 15th in the green in the regulation percentage (69.84%) and 19th in the stroke: off tees (0.468) and 20th (66.33%), selecting a strong value for the 2025 TRUIST CHOPIONSHIT BET.
