According to Forbes, the world’s wealthiest people are more wealthy than ever, appearing on the 2025 global billionaires list. This year, 27 Dallas billionaires are among the richest people in the world.
Leading the list of the richest Darasites is Elaine Marshall and her family, who ranks 67th overall with an estimated net worth of $28.3 billion. Forbes says Marshall owns about 16% of Koch, a multinational conglomerate corporation, which was inherited by her late husband, E. Pierce Marshall after her death in 2006.
Ranking the 10 spots as the richest person in the world, number 77th, is oil tycoon Lindal Steven Sgres and her family. Forbes estimates her net worth at $25.8 billion in 2025.
Gress was chairman of Endeavor Energy Resources, a private oil producer founded by his late father, Autry Stevens. Before his death in August 2024, Stevens agreed to sell the company to Diamondback Energy in a $26 billion deal that closed in September 2024.
“Endeavor is one of the largest private oil producers in the United States and produced approximately 327,000 barrels of oil per day in 2024,” Forbes said. “The company had the right to drill more than 500,000 acres in the US, primarily in Texas.”

Two Dallas-based billionaires beginners were on the list this year: biotechnology entrepreneur Ben Lamb and real estate mogul Fernando de Leon.
Lamb founded a huge biological science in 2021 to portray wool mammoths. He ranks 979th with an estimated net worth of $3.7 billion.
Meanwhile, de Leon made his first fortune in real estate and sold it all before the 2008 financial crisis. He currently runs Leon Capital Group, a holding company based in Austin, but Forbes lives in Dallas. His net worth is estimated at $2.8 billion.
What’s missing from the 2025 list are private equity Kingpin David Bonderman and Oil and Baron W. Herbert Hunt. Both died in 2024. Bonderman, 82, is a founding partner of the private equity group TPG, and served with the Wilderness Society, a nonprofit organization on the Conservation Board, while 95-year-old Hunt owns Louis Iron Oil Refunery.
Elsewhere in Dallas Fort Worth, Walmart heir Alice Walton became the world’s wealthiest woman in 2025, says Forbes. Walton knocked French L’Oreal Beauty heir Françoise Bettencourt Myersdown to second place late last year, keeping her spot at the top in 2025. Walton is the 15th wealthiest person on the planet.
Forbes has declared Walton’s net worth of $101 billion. This declares $28.7 billion more than its 2024 net worth of $72.3 billion. She is now one of 15 individuals claiming a 12-digit fate, also known as the “100 billion dollar club.”
Meanwhile, Austin billionaire Elon Musk has put Forbes on top. Listed in 2025 as the richest person in the world. The founders of Tesla and SpaceX knocked down French luxury Magniet Bernard Arneau to second place this year.
Forbes declared Musk as the first person to reach $300 billion status. His current net worth is $342 billion, $147 billion more than his 2024 net worth.
“It’s another record year for the world’s wealthiest people despite a growing number of geopolitical tensions,” said the senior editor at Wealth Chase Peterson Whitlun. “And they’re getting more and more powerful as Howard Lutnick and other billionaires take over the US government from Elon Musk.”
