Foreign Minister, immigrants and Egyptian expatriate Badr Abdelatti reiterated Egypt’s commitment to reach Egyptian consensus, to continue efforts to advance Libya-owned political solutions, maintain state institutions, and to promote Libya-owned political solutions that lead to working towards simultaneous retention of presidential elections.
This came during a meeting of top diplomats with Hannah Tette, the special representative of Libya’s newly appointed UN Secretary-General.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Karaf said Abdelatti expressed Egyptian enthusiasm to strengthen cooperation with her and congratulated her on her appointment.
He emphasized that Egypt is committed to supporting her mission to helping achieve sustainable resolutions against the Libyan crisis in accordance with relevant international resolutions and guidelines.
The spokesman added that within the set’s timeline, he highlighted the urgent need for the withdrawal of all foreign troops, fighters and mercenaries from Libya to protect Libya’s unity, territorial integrity and stability.
