Drivers who own electric vehicles are universal in their commitment to not returning to gas gazling vehicles using internal combustion engines, new research has revealed.
As EVS & Beyond explained, MotorPoint surveyed nearly 2,000 car owners in the UK, saying “100% of EV owners have investigated that their next car will be an EV.”
The survey tested the driver’s ability to identify all EV brands based solely on the logo. While 87% of those involved in the survey were unable to name all brands, the polls shed light on the growth of the EV market, which could affect future buying habits.
“We’ve seen a lot of investments entering the market with electric cars and new manufacturers, offering drivers a big choice when it comes to choosing their next car.” “Tesla is currently taking a big lead when it comes to brand recognition, but that car is now a common sight on roads in the UK.”
Tesla was the most recognized brand at 66%, followed by Polestar (23%) and BYD (18%). Nio, Rivian, and Xpeng were among the least recognized brands, but increasing awareness could help change that.
“We hope that more drivers will see the roads and will raise awareness of other emerging brands. More EVs in the used car market means they will benefit from more choices at lower prices,” Vousden added. “Several very exciting EV brands have been developed in China and will gradually become more readily available in the second-hand car market. These brands are a great option for drivers as they offer a wide range of equipment at cutting-edge technology and very reasonable prices.”

In addition to being a trendy way to travel, electric vehicles offer great benefits for both passengers and drivers. Because they do not generate tailpipe emissions, EVs improve air quality by reducing harmful pollution that can lead to respiratory problems such as asthma.
Future buyers have previously questioned the price range of electric vehicles, but EVs are more affordable and accessible thanks to price drops and tax credits from initiatives such as the Inflation Reduction Act. These incentives make switching to electric vehicles easier, so if you’re looking for a more sustainable and cost-effective transportation option, it’s worth exploring.
