The Bay Area will be experiencing ferocious, rainy, unstable weather earlier this week, giving way to the possibility of a thunderstorm and experiencing ferocious, rainy, and unstable weather.
The windy storm conditions on Monday are expected to generate moderate rainfall across the Bay Area and the Central Coast, allowing for a gulf coast, thunderstorms and sudden, heavy downpours.
If it’s short-lived, the biggest chance of dramatic weather is in North and East Bay, where there is a 15% to 25% chance of thunderstorms throughout Monday afternoon.
According to the weather department, if conditions become dry and the skies clear overnight, temperatures are expected to drop to higher elevations in North Bay Valley, Satanas Valley, Santarcia Mountains and San Benito County to the 30s.
This prompted a frost recommendation from 2am to 9am on Tuesday.
Wednesday mornings will be colder, and can also feature frost warnings, with rain likely returning later that day.
The best chance of mid-week rain is the coastal range and higher elevations in Napa and Sonoma counties, with forecasts that may be around a quarter-inch to a third-inch, with areas south of Golden Gate Bridges looking drizzling with drizzle.
The region can then expect a weekend warming trend as the high-pressure system moves out of the Eastern Pacific. Temperatures are expected to reach early next week, 10 degrees above the seasonal average.
