Pandreni Itura, the Change for Independent Patriots (IPC) leader, was snuggled for the inauguration of Netumbo Nandi Nandaitova in the presidential election.
The event, which coincides with the Independence Day celebration, will take place on Friday at the State House in Windhook.
Traditionally, opposition party leaders have been invited to such events, but the invitation was not extended to Itsura, despite him being the official opposition leader and the second candidate in the presidential election won by Nandi Nudaitwa.
Itora is not a member of parliament after preventing his name from appearing on the IPC’s National Assembly candidate list before last election.
He appears to have been snuggled at the moment for the president’s inauguration and Independence Day celebrations, and his name will not appear in the official program. He was not seen at the State Capitol on Friday.
The Namibian has obtained information about where itula is and confirms in a WhatsApp message that he has not been invited.
In his message, Itula said: “I did not receive invitations from any entity. All council members received invitations sent directly to the IPC office. Through our office as mayor, the Vice President and his tag was sent to the Chief Regional Officer of Eango, Swakopmund.”
Questions sent to the Statehouse Protocol and the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation were not answered.
