Uniondale is expanding its health centre focused on digestive health.
Northwell Health has opened $5.3 million at Uniondale, the $5.3 million Surgery and Gastrointestinal Disease Center for Surgery and Gastrointestinal Diseases, for $5.3 million. The space is part of the 27,000-square-foot Northwell Gastroenterological Health Center of Excellence, which offers gastroenterological services.
Located at 106 Charles Lindbergh Blvd., the building houses the Northwell Health Physician Partner Gastroenterology Associates, and the Long Island Center for Digestive Health, an outpatient endoscopy center.
Dr. John D’Angelo, executive vice president of Northwell Health, said in a news release about the new centre:
“We are expected to come together to provide comprehensive care and expect sophisticated patients, whether it’s for medical or surgical care,” D’Angelo added. “They want seamless navigation on their healthcare journey.”
The Gastrointestinal Health Center includes 18 test rooms, two procedure rooms, six infusion bays, 10 doctors and more than 70 team members.
Surgical consultations are provided for general surgeries, colorectal surgery, surgical oncology and bariatric surgery.
Programs are also available for assessment of esophageal disease, pancreatic cysts and weight loss management. Infusion therapy is provided to patients with chronic conditions such as ulcerative colitis and inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn’s disease.
“With the opening of this new centre, patients scheduling appointments at the Gastrointestinal Health Centre of Excellence will be able to pick up in one comprehensive gastrointestinal location, which will promote a journey and road to recovery.”
“Patients are supported at every stage to make the diagnosis and treatment process as simple and seamless as possible,” he added.
