The first round of the 2025 NCAA Women’s Tournament set the stage for an exciting second round matchup, including a rematch of the 2024 Sweet 16 between South Carolina and Indiana. The 32 rounds begin on Sunday and close on Monday night.
The UCLA Bruins, led by Lauren Betts and Kiki Rice, will appear as the overall seed of March’s madness, but the path to the title is not a cakewalk. South Carolina’s gamecocks are aiming for repetition, and Juju Watkins leads the talented USC program. Texas no after winning 31 wins on their way to the NCAA Tournament. We conclude with 1 seed.

Only double digit seeds remain in (10) Oregon and (10) South Dakota. However, this year, no. There are a lot of dangerous teams that are serious candidates other than the first seed. Can you knock off one of your championship favorites before this year’s Sweet 16?
In contrast to men, an interesting wrinkle in the women’s tournament is that the best seeds in the four-team pod play hosts on the first weekend. Two cities in Birmingham, Alabama and Spokane, Washington will then host Sweet 16 and Elite Eight before the remaining teams head to Florida for the Final Four and National Championship games in Tampa.
Below is all the information you need to keep up with the action. Please return to this page as it will be updated with matchups and chip time over the next 3 weeks.
