MOGADISH – Somali President Hassan Sheikh returned to the region where operations against al-Shabaab are currently underway following a meeting in the capital with the new chairman of the African Union Commission Muhammad Ali Yusuf.
In a speech at Raga Schiele in the Mid-Shovel area, President Mohamud spoke to hundreds of local elders in the Makawisley community. He praised their commitment to overcoming the threat of terrorists and assured them of continued support for the government in the fight against extremism.
The president then traveled to the town of Cadal, in the same area. There, we will continue to oversee military operations and strategic efforts aimed at combating terrorist groups that are destabilizing the country.
