The woman who shot and killed Serena Quintanira is not released from behind the bar… because she was just denied parole.
The decision on Thursday denied that the Texas parole board had denied Yolanda Sardivar’s bid for freedom… citing the violent nature of her crime, claiming that she still poses a “continuous threat” to the community.
Yolanda worked for Serena until March 9, 1995, when Serena’s father fired her after accusing her of embezzling money from the Tejanostar clothing company that was planning to open a boutique in Monterrey, Mexico.
Two weeks later, Yolanda shot and killed Serena… She was eventually convicted and served a life sentence. Serena was only 23 years old when she was killed.
After denial on Thursday, it is reportedly said that the next Yolanda is eligible for parole.
Serena’s family praised the denial in a social media post, saying, “While we cannot regain Serena, this decision reaffirms that justice continues to support the beautiful life taken by us and millions of fans around the world.”
