Audrey Hale, a Nashville school shooter who killed three children and three adults in 2023, committed a crime due to fame and infamy…this is according to police.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department has released its final report on the shooting after two years of investigation…and they claim that Hale was motivated by his desire for infamy.
Investigators note that Hale wanted to die and be remembered in a vital way… After the shooting death of Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999, he was studying the infamous names of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold.

Officers say Hale wrote that the two became “gods” after the attack.
Police claim that Hale felt like a victim… the same as those who were ultimately killed in the shooting – but at other times, officers say they viewed Hale as the “real victim” of the attack.
According to the report, Hale imagined a book or documentary dedicated to the shooting… he would think that the gun used in the murder would one day enter some sort of museum. Additionally, Hale appears to be hoping that a note about Nashville’s shooting plans will inspire future shooters on how to carry out their attacks.

The report uncovers some popular theories about shooting…including claims that Hale chose Covenant School to make claims about religion. In fact, officers say Hale chose the school because he attended it – and wanted to die somewhere that once was a source of happiness.
The officers also say that Hale did not leave the manifesto behind by their definition…it does not exist as a singular document outlining the motivations and intentions of the shooting.
By the way… police use the pronoun of “her/her” to describe Hale (Tennessee law requires birth certificates) – though they note that they personally use the pronoun of “he/he” on social media and in their writings.
Police say they don’t think anyone, including Hale’s parents, will be charged with the shooting. Hale was shot dead by a responding officer on March 27, 2023.
