Major General Assad Osman Abdullahi, commander of the Somali National Police, along with Deputy Commander Osman Abdullahi Mohamed, visited the Rajab dei Erdogan Hospital in Mogadishu (formerly known as Digfaaah) to identify the soldiers injured during military operations in the city.
The soldiers were injured while performing their duties in the defense of the nation as part of the Somali government’s efforts to ensure the safety and security of their citizens.
Hospital medical staff provided detailed updates on the condition of injured personnel and provided insight into the severity of the injury and ongoing care.
During his visit, Major General Assad Osmann expressed concern about the well-being of wounded soldiers and emphasized the importance of providing them with the medical care they need.
He reassured them that their sacrifices would not be overlooked, and acknowledged their important role in protecting the nation, particularly the threats posed by the enemy, Al-Shabaab, an extremist group actively targeting the peace and security of Somalia.
“May Allah give you healing. You have been injured in the service of your people and your country and have defended them from the betrayal of your enemies. We are here today to personally assess your condition. If further care is required, we will ensure that you are transferred to the appropriate medical facility,” said Major General Assad Osman.
The commander also appointed a special committee to monitor the recovery of injured personnel and ensure that they receive ongoing care until full recovery.
This step highlights the continued commitment of the Somali National Police to the welfare of its officers, particularly to those injured while fulfilling their citizens’ duties.
The visit not only reflects the police’s commitment to supporting personnel, but also highlights the Somali government’s continued efforts to maintain peace and security in the face of ongoing challenges.
The Somali National Police are at the forefront of operations aimed at protecting the capital and other regions, facing serious risks to their security, while supporting their responsibility to the state.
