President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said he visited French President Emmanuel Macron during his meeting on Monday, April 4, 2025, insisting the need to return to the Gaza Strip ceasefire agreement and reject humanitarian entry and attempts to replace the Palestinians.
At a joint press conference with Macron, Sisi emphasized the importance of working with France to rebuild the Gaza Strip, in addition to holding a meeting for reconstruction efforts in the war-torn enclave following the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
Sisi further said he and Macron had signed a joint declaration to raise Egyptian-France relations to the level of strategic partnership.
He praised the strong historical relations between Egypt and France.
Sisi said the French president’s visit to Egypt demonstrates fruitful cooperation between the two countries in all respects.
Today, the two presidents witnessed many agreements between their countries and Mous signings.
Macron arrived here on Sunday on a three-day visit to Egypt.
Speaking at a press conference with France’s Emmanuel Macron, Sisi said the talks focused on strong historical relations between the two countries and how to promote them in all looming aspects, with a particular emphasis on emphasising French investment in Egypt.
Sisi added that it confirmed the importance of expanding the activities of French companies in Egypt.
He said he emphasized the need to build on the results of the Egyptian-French Business Forum being held today to strengthen joint cooperation and economic development.
Sisi also said it agreed on the importance of implementing all axes of the new strategic partnership, including mutual support for international nominations, in addition to supporting cooperation in strengthening the railway industry, artificial intelligence and strengthening green hydrogen production.
During the talks, Sisi added that he emphasized the importance of bilateral cooperation in immigration and the need to support Egypt in efforts to combat illegal immigration.
Egypt hosts over 9 million refugees.
At a joint press conference with French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, Sisi said he insisted support for the new Lebanese president and the Lebanese government in his efforts to achieve the stability and aspirations of his brother Lebanese, in addition to the need for all parties to comply with the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

Sisi went on to say they discussed developing water security files with Macron. He reiterates Egypt’s solid status, which he believes Nile countries are connected through Nile waters, and believes that Egypt is working to maintain interstate cooperation in the Nile basin and to adhere to relevant international laws.
He said he discussed the situation in Sister Sudan and the development of the Sahel region and the Horn of Africa region. In this regard, he added, we agreed to the need to strengthen cooperation to increase security and stability in these regions.
Egypt and France are keen to restore traffic through the Suez Canal following several attacks targeting the Bab al-Mandab Strait due to the continued war with Gaza, he said.
In conclusion, Sisi told Macron that a visit to Egypt would be a new prelude to enhance strategic cooperation between Egypt and France.
“We are in a promising era and witness the promotion of cooperation and historical bonds of friendship between the Egyptian and French people,” Sisi concluded.
