Designed to help entrepreneurs develop and implement green business solutions, the program focuses on reducing waste in landfills, saving energy and water, improving the green functioning of homes and businesses, and creating products that help remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

The program’s main goal is to develop and expand companies within the region that could reduce waste, energy or water usage and carbon emissions by 20%. With your ideas reduced food waste, improved energy efficiency, and reduced transportation-related emissions, Green Business Bootcamp offers guidance and resources to turn your vision into reality.

To qualify, your business must be located within Flagstaff City limits. The application process is simple and can be accessed online at localfirstaz.com/green-boot-camp.

Participants will participate in nine sessions each week and will be hosted at the Moonshot Accelerator Conference Room at 2201 N Gemini Dr.

Throughout the programme, participants will engage local sustainability experts and gain insight into green business practices and strategies. Entrepreneurs receive personalized support to improve their business models and plans. Additionally, the program provides valuable information on potential funding options, including seed funding opportunities to help launch or grow green businesses.

Innovate Green Challenge: Drives sustainability and innovation at Flagstaff

The Innovate Green Challenge is a flagship contest hosted by the City of Flagstaff’s Economic Development and Sustainability Division. Invite local entrepreneurs, businesses and innovators to develop creative solutions that address environmental challenges. This challenge focuses on key sustainability issues such as carbon dioxide removal, water conservation and waste reduction, and encourages participants to suggest products or services that have a positive impact on the environment.

Participants in the Innovate Green Challenge have the opportunity to win a substantial cash award and provide important funding to turn ideas into reality. This competition serves as a platform for innovators to introduce their solutions to a judge panel made up of sustainability experts, business leaders and community stakeholders.

This task offers a series of preparatory workshops to help participants refine their pitch and strengthen their business strategies. These include sessions on legal considerations for startups, creating effective elevator pitches, and developing a solid business model. Entrepreneurs also benefit from pitch development workshops, mock presentations and personalized feedback from mentors. The goal is to help participants present clear and persuasive cases for their ideas, while demonstrating potential environmental and economic benefits.

The competition will unfold over two days, followed by an initial pitch review and feedback session, followed by a formal presentation to the review committee. Finalists present solutions in front of their audience, highlighting innovative approaches and potential real-world impacts. Winners are selected based on the feasibility, scalability and environmental benefits of their ideas. If you have a qualified product or service, please submit your application before the April 7th deadline.

The Innovate Green Challenge reflects Flagstaff’s commitment to promoting a sustainable and resilient local economy. Combining environmental responsibility with business innovation, this challenge will enable local entrepreneurs to drive meaningful change and contribute to Flagstaff’s long-term sustainability goals.
