The table has changed – years after “black” creator Kenya Barris filed a restraining order against his own sister… she submitted herself against him.
Colette Barris filed new legal documents on Tuesday through Los Angeles lawyer Ariel Mitchell… asked the judge to contact him directly or indirectly, with his 83-year-old mother, Ernestine Barris, about ongoing legal matters between his siblings.
In documents obtained by TMZ, Colette claims that Kenya is trying to influence Ernestin to falsely testify against her in court, and “manipulate and threaten” rejecting false testimony to remain neutral in the dispute between her son and daughter.
The family drama comes from Colette’s claim that Kenya violated a 2021 agreement reached between his siblings.
Colette claims that a well-known television producer has obtained a recording that proves that he violates their agreement and intends to take him to court.
Colette allegedly claimed that her brother had begun contacting his mother about the situation and forced her to write a letter making a false statement about the controversy in order to clear his name.
Collet’s submission says that Kenya overwhelmed her mother and got her own legal counsel… and then she sent a letter to both Kenya and Collet asking her to send communications about the dispute to her attorney.
Colette says her mother wants to remain “neutral” and is “grief” over the ongoing battle.
She wants an order that prohibits Kenya from contacting Ernestin in an attempt to win Edge in his legal battle with Colette.

You may remember… Kenya originally filed a protection order against her sister in 2020. In a document obtained by TMZ, Kenya claimed that Colette had routinely piggybacked from his name, but when Hollywood’s attempts to succeed were unsuccessful, he said he began to threaten six children. He asked Colette to stop communicating with his family at the time.
TMZ has reached out to Kenya’s lawyers for comment… so far, there have been no words.
