Leinster is a favorite for lifting the trophy, a position highlighted by a 10-try victory that overwhelmed the Harlequins in the final round.
Glasgow could be around 10-1 odds to stop the upset in Dublin, but Rainster and All Blacks Superstar Buc Geordy Barrett have full respect for the URC champion.
“If we don’t do our job right this weekend, there’s no more European rugby than that. That’s just as easy,” Barrett told RTE.
“Glasgow is on the good side. They play a lot of rugby, a very offensive side. They’re tough, just like we did on the weekend with Leicester.
“So it’s going to be a challenge. They’re very strong one-on-8, they play a lot of ball and the least kicks in URC.
“They’re a confident aspect, and they regain their abilities. But looking, we were right in the challenge.
“We respect them as costumes, but we also feel like we’re heading in the right direction here.”
After losing four of the last three consecutive finals and four of the last six, there is pressure for Rainster to finally win the Champions Cup again.
They made six changes to the side that destroyed Quinn. Ireland’s international Dan Sheehan, Andrew Porter and Kaelan Doris all started on the bench.
This is a triple nailed the British and Irish Lions for this summer’s tour of Australia, including Doris’ potential captain, and is left on the sidelines for the start of the game.
Is Rainster taking Glasgow a little light? Or are they simply very strong?
Perhaps the latter drips class from top to toe, considering the team boasts the Lions winners, the double World Cup winners at RG Snyman, and the Lions multiple winners, given the latter.
Not many people are hoping Glasgow will knock Rainster off the course in his first quest to become the king of Europe since 2018.
If so, the response can be felt throughout the rugby world.
