Wendy Williams is forced to choose her friends very carefully… at least if she wants to be allowed to leave her support facility.
Wendy was all smiles on a Thursday night in New York, and she was given permission to go out for dinner with Nie’s Alex Finney, Don Lemon and his husband Tim Malone, so she was all smiles. Foursome attacked Il Cantinori, an Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village. No wonder Wendy looks so happy.
TMZ broke the story… Wendy took less than an hour from booking dinner on Wednesday night. Wendy didn’t say why he couldn’t go, but it’s now clearer.

On Wednesday, she was going to eat with Nie…and Powerhouse lawyer Joe Takopina – he is now Wendy’s personal lawyer and will push hard to finish guardianship.
As we reported, Wendy’s guardian Sabrina Morrissey had her attorney send a letter to TMZ… Wendy claims she can leave the facility to see her family whenever she wants.
The only difference between Wednesday and Thursday… the presence of Mr. Takopina, where the guardian must feel that he does not want to consult with his clients… especially after he refuses guardianship.
Sources with direct knowledge are telling TMZ… Guardianship reached out to Joe to represent it in an ongoing lawsuit against A&E over Wendy’s docusary. Wendy says she doesn’t want to pursue it.
Joe refused guardianship and was told he chose to represent Wendy instead. That’s the whole picture here.
Conclusion…Wendy was definitely excited about her night of freedom.
