A Wisconsin high school student killed his parents as part of a larger plot to assassinate US President Donald Trump, the FBI said.
Nikita Cassap, 17, was charged with the murder of her mother, Tatiana Cassap, 35, and her 51-year-old stepfather, Donald Mayer, who was found dead at her home on February 28th.
The newly unsealed search warrant alleges that the suspect’s phone contained material related to the 9 Angle and a neo-Nazi group called Adolf Hitler’s praise.
Investigators also discovered anti-Semitic writings, which are said to have detailed his plan to kill Trump as part of a broader goal of overthrowing the government, according to court documents.
The suspect is charged with first-degree intentional murder and seven other felony counts, including hiding corpses and identity theft.
His parents were found dead when local officials visited Waukesha village near Milwaukee after two weeks of non-access to school.
According to criminal charges regarding the teenager, Mayer died of a bullet wound to the head, but around February 11, Kassapp died of multiple gunshot wounds.
The same day their bodies were found, the defendant was pulled by Kansas police to drive a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas belonging to Mayer, investigators said.
The car included Mr. Mayer’s Smith & Wesson .357 pistol, four credit cards belonging to the couple, “multiple pieces” of precious gems, and a pred open safe, $14,000 (£10,700) currency.
In the book discovered by investigators, the suspect expressed his white supremacist beliefs and called for Trump’s assassination to launch a political revolution, according to a search warrant.
The alleged double murder “appeared as an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy needed to carry out his plans,” investigators wrote.
Court documents allege that the suspect had spoken with Russian people about his plans to kill his parents.
Authorities said the teenagers paid for the drones and explosives they would use in the attack, and they had plans to flee to Ukraine.
“He has contacted other political parties about his plan to kill the president and overthrow the government of a united state,” investigators wrote.
The suspect was heard in the Preparatory Court on April 9th. He has not pleaded for the charges.
According to Waukesha County Court, he is scheduled to appear in court on May 7th for an arrest where a charge against him will be formally awarded. He is held on a bond of $1 million (£764,000).
