The death of Kylen Lacey has shocked the world of sports… tribute to star athletes like Odell Beckham Jr. and Angel Reese, as well as former star LSU receivers.
Lacey, who scored nine touchdowns last season, died of a self-harm gunshot wound on Saturday after police chased her in Houston, Texas.
The death of the 24-year-old soccer star came days before the big ju judge was called to hear evidence from a fatal traffic incident that claimed the life of the 78-year-old retired US Marines. Lacey is accused of causing a crash without asking for help and fleeing the scene.
Lacey was also preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft (down in just 10 days). There were many experts who predicted he would be the draft pick for the first round.
Beckham, who also appeared on LSU, shared photos on his Instagram with Kylen in the Tigers locker room… he wrote “Rest Easy Lil Bro.”
Odell wasn’t just the Louisiana State star who expressed his sadness after his death… Angel Reese also placed emphasis on tragic stories.
“Lip Kylen So So Man,” the WNBA star wrote in X. She also reminds people to check their friends’ mental health, saying, “You never know what someone is going through!”
Former NFL and LSU standout Leonard Fullnett shared an Instagram DM with Lacy… he said he recently spoke to Kyren.
“I lost because of words,” Fournette said, “Please talk to you last week.”
“I was really excited to see this young man join the league. Hold on to your loved one. Get your rest. Pray for your family.”
Russell Wilson, Jaden Daniels, Reveon Bell, Jemmer Chase and Kyler Murray also paid tribute on social media.
“Rip on Kylen Lacey, one of the saddest stories around a man,” Murray said. “My thoughts and prayers lie in his family and in his LSU community.”
