WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the US would not hide “terrorists” among the Somali people.
“We support Somalians who should not have Houtis embedded (they are trying to do it!), end terrorism and not bring prosperity to their country,” he wrote on social media, referring to Yemeni Houtis, which targets Israeli-linked ships, and targets Israel on a solidarity show with Gaza.
Somalia is located on the Horn of Africa, near Yemen.
“It’s time for terrorists to hide, but that’s no use for them. Our fighters are the greatest thing the world has ever seen, finding them and bringing them to quick justice,” Trump added.
“I… once again empowered our fighters. Once again, I was completely wiped out under General Daniel Caine, who was completely wiped out in three weeks, just as I opposed the fight against ISIS (Daesh).
Trump previously said that Kane “contributed to ISIS’s complete disappearance.”
In a 2018 speech, President Trump said that in his first term as president, Kane told him that he could be defeated in a week.
