New conditions for the military from Djibouti, part of Somalia’s African Union Mission (#aussom), have arrived at Beletwain, informing us of important measures to enhance security in central Somalia.

The forces will be deployed in two strategically important towns, Bula Bade and Jalalaksi, in the Hiylan region of Hailan province.

Upon arrival, Sector 4 commander said Waberg, along with other senior military officials, had welcomed the Djiboutian troops at Ugas Kharif Airport.

They highlighted the important role these troops play in supporting joint operations with the Somali Army (#SNAFORCE) against extremist Al-Shabaab and ensuring the safety and stability of Central Somalia.

As part of the African Union mission, the Djiboutian military is responsible for protecting the region’s major management hubs, air strips and critical supply routes.

Their presence is expected to further strengthen efforts to secure the region under threat from al-Shabaab and contribute to the broader goal of restoring peace and order in Somalia.

This development highlights the continued commitment to African Union and its member states, ensuring that Somalia supports the fight against terrorism, stabilizes the region, and that critical infrastructure remains protected and accessible.
