Harry Kane said he adopted the penalty technique after seeing Brazilian forward Neymar and other well-known spot kick specialists.
The England captain said he once wanted power and accuracy, but now he’s trying to find an early move from the goalkeeper before taking the penalty.
“We’ve had quite a few players over the years who have been punished with such penalties,” the Bayern Munich forward told TNT Sports Brasil.

“I think [some players] Dive into my head, [Mario] This is what Balotelli looked like, Neymar looked like. There was a player waiting before the keeper hit it. That wasn’t what I did before, I wanted more power and accuracy than before. ”
Kane, 31, missed a key penalty in England’s 2022 World Cup quarterfinals in a loss to France, converting a spot kick early in the second half before lifting the kick high in the closing stage.
“When I missed that penalty at the World Cup, I felt there was something I could change, especially if I took two penalties in the game,” he said. “That’s something I wanted to try to improve. Thankfully, it was good.”
