Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have an NFL team for the 2025 season. You may not have an NFL team for a while. The previous MVP finally broke his silence about his current position and future while taking part in Thursday’s “Pat McAfee Show,” but he cleared the air with months of reports and rumors about his plans.

On his current location: “I’m in Malibu. …I’m living a quiet life. …It was an interesting break for me.” Rogers added that he is “exercise” with a lot of focus on his life.
Hesitant to decide about his NFL future: “I’m at another stage in my life. I’m 41. I’m in a serious relationship. … Committing to a team is a big deal, whether you’re a freshman or a veterinarian in 20. I had a lot of great conversations with a lot of teams. [But] I’m open to nothing and I’m not attached to anything. Yes, retirement is still possible. But for now my focus is… my personal life. ”

Regarding his contract request: “I told everyone on the team, but it’s not about money… I’ll play [$10 million]Rodgers later repeated that in 2025 he offered to play for literally $10 million.
At his exit from the Jets: Rogers did not etch his words when he discussed the end of a “interesting two years” in New York. Rodgers claimed “20 seconds” to sit in with both Glenn and new general manager Darren Moogie, and Glenn questioned whether Rodgers still wants to play, informing him that the Jets are “going in a different direction.” Glenn also implied during the team meeting that Rodgers was worried that he could undermine leadership, the quarterback said: [didn’t] I want that part. It was already a huge failure. ”
On the team he met during free agency: Rodgers confirmed he had a “great conversation” with New York Giants coach Brianda Ball, who is the “beautiful football mind.” He also calls Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell, called “My Buddy,” and says he talks regularly during the NFL season. He also visited the Pittsburgh Steelers and confirmed that he “tryed to do it as quietly as possible.”
On the remaining possibilities to play for the Steelers: Rodgers said he has spoken “many times” with manager Mike Tomlin in addition to his visit to the team facility. [impressive] He added that he visited in part to find out “what life in Pittsburgh is like.”
Regarding the possibility of deadlines for joining the Steelers: “All this time, I don’t feel like I’m making any decisions in advance to anyone at any point… I’ve said them in advance. I think it was fair to the Steelers and everyone while dealing with a lot from the field. [to make that commitment]. …People who need to know, people who need to know. ”
Rogers’ comments came shortly after someone who spoke to the quarterback during free agency suggested that the former MVP would be more likely to leave than sign a non-coach bowl contention team. That sentiment emerged after weeks of silence from Rogers camp, despite Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney II showing at the NFL annual meeting in early April that the quarterback was on track to sign with the club in the near future.
