Another plane’s flight, another scary thing – this time there’s fire and thick smoke flowing from the plane’s engine… thankfully while still in the tarmac.
Everything was caught on camera by surprise spectators – the Delta Flight 1213 is scheduled to take off from Orlando International Airport on its way to Atlanta on Monday morning, burning in video showing an engine fire.
Passengers were found safely sliding down the inflatable slide as fire rescue crews ran up and started a fire.
A Delta spokesperson told TMZ that the Airbus A330 carried 200 passengers, 10 flight attendants and two pilots, with no injuries reported.
While passengers are returned to the terminal and serving food and drinks, Delta is said to have additional aircraft ready to take everyone to their final destination later today.
Delta said the flight crew follows all standard safety procedures after discovering the flames from one tailpipe of one of the jet’s two engines. Maintenance will look at the aircraft to see what went wrong.
An Orlando International Airport official told TMZ… the fire that began around 11am local time was trapped and disappeared. Orlando police, aircraft rescue and firefighters were involved in the investigation of the scene.
With all plane accidents happening recently, this latest fear is simply adding fuel to the growing nerves, and passengers are already feeling about the flight.
