LOS ANGELES – Philip Danaw scored his second goal in 42 seconds, and the Los Angeles Kings blew a four-goal lead, 6-5 win over the Edmonton Oilers in the opener on Monday night of the club’s fourth straight first-round playoff series.
The Kings led 5-3 in the final minutes, with Zach Hyman and Conor McDavid tied it up with an extra attacker. Los Angeles responded with Danaw skating along the way, whipping up fluttering shots while loose Warren bubbles screening goalkeeper Stuart Skinner.
Andrei Kuzmenko had goals and two assists in his Stanley Cup playoff debut, while Edrian Kempe added another goal and two assists to the second seed Kings, who lost his final three series against Edmonton.
