If Titans are looking for last-minute draft advice, they can get a lot from the familiar faces – Jeff Fisher!!
The former Tennessee head coach was sitting at TMZ Sports as Titan prepares for his No. 1 overall pick at the annual NFL selection party on Thursday…and he issued some warnings to his old team.
First and foremost, Fisher said that if Brian Callahan and the company have the quarterback they love… he shouldn’t think too much about it – and that they’re going to compete on the podium and choose the signal.
However, he also warned his previous team, “Please note that you will convince yourself that you really like this player with that pick.”
“We need to be careful about getting too much information,” said Fisher, who has been coaching the Titan franchise for nearly 20 years.
He goes on to say that tradedowns are definitely not the worst – “You can quickly turn the corner by getting a high pick in the coming years.”
Titans are widely expected to stay at their pick and former college. It appears to be a choice for Miami QB Come Ward. Colorado Stravis Hunter and Edge Abdul Carter from Pennsylvania will definitely be considered.
They formally make the choice in Green Bay just after 5pm… and it’s safe to say that everyone in the NFL world, including Fisher, will be glued to the TV when Roger Goodell reads their picks.
