Nairobi – A new digital platform designed to transform the influencer economy in Africa has been launched in Nairobi.
Called Zaumu, Marketplace is the first and first creator on the continent, and the end-to-end influencer campaign management platform, offering streamlined solutions for content creators to connect directly with their brands.
Zaumu aims to address the long-standing challenges of the influencer space, including lack of transparency, delayed payments, reduced contract structures, and sorting out errors between creators and brand goals.
Through digital tools and AI-powered capabilities, the platform provides a structured, secure environment where creators can access listed projects, negotiate contracts, and receive payments related to clear milestones.
“Even with the growing desire for digital marketing, 90% of projects targeted at creators never reach execution,” said Cedric Nzomo, co-founder of Zaumu.
“The gap in trust, lack of transparency and inefficiency in project management makes brands more likely to stick to traditional advertising. This won the entire influencer industry in 2024, like the 200 signs between Wilayakiway and CBD.”
Statista estimates Kenya’s influencer marketing spending is $2.5 million in 2024.
Zaumu hopes to bridge that gap by providing creator tools to better manage intellectual property, streamline payments and work seamlessly with brands.
Key platform features include transparent job listings, streamlined contracts, direct brand creator messaging, and automated campaign reports.
Content creation is increasingly seen as a viable career path, especially among ZS and millennials, which has established Zaumu as the launchpad of Africa’s digital economy.
“The beauty of content creation is that you can monetize what you already do. But it lacks access and efficiency. Zaumu is built to fix that,” Nzomo added.
The launch of the platform comes when African creators are demanding bigger agencies for working, negotiation and profiting in the digital space.
