Arsenal reached their first final of the Women’s Champions League in 18 years on Sunday, beating French Powerhouse Lyon on a 4-1 away away.
Lyon’s manager Joe Montéro, who coached Arsenal, said the outcome of the game was “unexplainable” and the French side came out with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg, 5-3 to 5-3 in the collective.
“I was undefeated to this day, so I couldn’t explain a bit of what happened today,” Montemulo told Dazen. “We weren’t as calm as we played the game and were beaten by a better team.”
Goals from Mariona Caldente, Alesia Russo and Caitlyn Ford – After a unique goal from Lyon’s goalkeeper Park, Ryon Endler, Arsenal gave a 5-3 victory in the tally, setting up a showdown against defending champion Barcelona in the final.

Arsenal captain Kim Little praised the team’s work as they were trying to add Arsenal’s second European title.
“This means a lot to this incredible football club and I look forward to representing this club in the final,” Little told Dozen. “We believe in this group and are very good at running game plans. We did pretty well in the first leg, but not enough. Today we did it very well and deserved to win.”
Arsenal’s feat to reach the final was even more impressive by the fate of women’s super league rival Chelsea.
