Carlo Ancelotti will meet with Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez in the coming days to discuss the departure of the coach from the club, sources told ESPN.
Madrid was beaten 3-2 after spending extra time by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey Finals on Saturday. The team remains four points away from Lariga’s top with five games remaining.
Ancelotti is on a contract in Madrid until 2026, but has faced enduring speculation about his future throughout the season. ESPN reported last week that talks have resumed between the Brazilian Football Federation and Ancelotti’s camp regarding his takeover of the Brazilian national team.

Sources told ESPN that Ancelotti and Pérez will meet in the coming days, with the expected outcome being agreed to Real Sociedad that the coach will leave the club after the final Lariga game of the season.
Ancelotti is one of the most successful coaches in the club’s history, winning three Champion Leagues and two Lariga titles with two spells at Santia go Bernabéu.
“Whether I’ll continue [at Madrid] Ancelotti is a matter of the coming weeks, not the coming weeks, when asked about his future at a press conference after Madrid’s defeat on Saturday.
On April 19, the Italian confirmed that he and the club will “analyze things at the end of the season” and did not confirm that he will be responsible for Madrid’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign this summer.
“We’re still competing for the trophy,” Ancelotti said. “I don’t want to talk about my future, I’ll talk to the club at the end of the season.
“I’ve always had a great relationship with the club. There’s no conflict.”
The sources won’t see who will take over Ancelotti, but said the most likely scenario for Madrid’s Club World Cup campaign, which begins on June 18, is internal interim appointments such as director of football Santia Gossorali, manager Castila’s manager Raul Gonzalez, or under-19 coach Alvaro Alberoa.
