FRISCO, Texas – Alabama Crimson Tide All-American offensive guard Tyler Booker, the 12th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft by the Alabama Crimson Tide All-American, hasn’t been a cowboy for a week.
But he already has both All Edge Edge Mika Parsons and Dallas owner and general manager Jerry Jones, ready to run through the brick wall after hearing him speak. Parsons interviewed Booker about Bleacher Report’s NFL Draft Live Reaction Show shortly after the latter was selected by Dallas. After hearing him talk about losing his football love while opposing his opponent, he says, “Daddy of God, you got me the hype! Let’s go! Hey, welcome to the team!”
Jones is able to respond to people over 82 years old as Parsons’ fiery response while sitting next to Booker at a Friday afternoon introductory secretary press conference – with an equal response. He compared Booker’s leadership qualities and energy to Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin’s Hall of Fame Hall of Fame. Jones became poetic about Irvin, who inspired Dallas wide receiver Alvin Harper’s 70-yard reception with the Cowboys’ 30-20 NFC Championship Game victory in the 1992 season.
“Listen to Tyler and remember that I’ve never seen the Super Bowl that I would have the opportunity to participate without Michael Irvin,” Jones said Friday. “Michael, we know our competitors. We know our challengers, we know our spirits. But it’s part of Michael Irvin, who was the leader.
“For example, Alvin Harper [made the 70-yard catch] No one could believe that play was called against San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game. Michael and Alvin Harper were all together, so Harper went where Michael might have thought the ball would go to Harper and he might have thought he should have. Of course, Harper ran 80 yards from the finish line. …I heard he told Alvin, “You’re a man,” so I was telling him. Whatever you do, you don’t even think about doing anything. You don’t hesitate either. You grab that ball and run to the total edge. But don’t flinch. We all rely on you. ” …The rest is history. [Harper] I made a play. ”
It was then revealed that Irvin set the play on that play a few years ago by building an off-field connection with Harper.
“Michael later told me, ‘Don’t you think it’s because we’re at the San Francisco finish line and we’re there?” Jones said. You’ve returned it for a long time. “he [Irvin] Alvin said he received a call in his hometown to talk to his Sertoma Club and he was about to ask me what to say. And me [Irvin] “Do you want to go with you to your hometown, Alvin? [Irvin] He said he had to spend years doing it before calling it in a football match. ”
At the end of that story, Jones turned to Booker, who sat next to him, praised the 21-year-old for having “the same” type of leadership juice and ability.
“It’s round the corner. It’s recognition. This boy has got it now. The same thing,” Jones said. “Obviously they’re different now. But what does it take to turn the corner, look at leadership, think ahead, and get one of these?”

The next day, at a Cowboys’ draft press conference, Jones was forced to compare Booker and Irvin again, labeling both energies simply as electric and “contagious.” Dallas is safe to say they are sure there will be a cornerstone player on the offensive line for years to come.
“If you see a consensus or you see an agreement, you should be careful,” Jones said. “Who saw him? [Booker] – Coach, Scout, what do you have – and they say, “God only knows this guy, he knows shit, he makes you feel funny around him.” He just has energy, or he is like that. That’s true. That’s really true and these guys are looking for it. ”
“It’s that room energy that could be very contagious. Again, I compared it to Michael. [Irvin]. Well, they are separated from the world in their lives and what is fundamentally their type. But one thing about Michael Irvin, boy, if you touched him, you ran out at him, and if you touched Michael, your clothes sparked. I’m over-proven here, but it’s worth looking for in football players and people have it. ”
