Dakar – Senegal’s ASC Bilde Dakar surprised Basketball African League (BAL) defending champion Petro Dalunda of Angola 65-64 at Match Day 3 of the Sahara Conference held at Dakar Arena on Tuesday night.
Makhtar Gueye had 16 points and 11 rebounds, Abdoulaye Harouna added 15 points and Ater Majok added 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Patrick Gardner led Petro with 19 points and nine rebounds.
Dakar almost wasted a morale-boosting victory after committing two consecutive eight-second violations at the final moments of the game, but Petro de Luanda couldn’t take advantage of it.
They previously defeated Tunisia’s US Monastil 70-67 on Saturday’s opening night.
Monastir Victorious
With his previous tie, Monastil defeated Cape Verde’s Criall Star 88-72 at the same venue.
