Wednesday night’s explosion shook Giwa Barrack, a popular military detention facility believed to be held in Maiduguri, Borno province.
This comes amid the revival of Boko Haram violence that the state government has recently denounced.
Governor Babagana Zulum lamented that Muslim terrorists are reorganizing and threatening the vulnerable stability of the Northeast region.

Some videos of incidents posted on social media, people who captured empty flames and live near fierce barracks for safety.
However, police said the explosion was caused by heat.
Borno police spokesman Nahum Daso said the fire broke out around 10:30pm affected the explosion of ammunition.
“A combination of security and firefighter response teams quickly arrived at the scene and successfully put out the fire. A preliminary investigation showed that unusually high ambient temperatures in Maiduguri during this period could have contributed to the occurrence.
“The command should not panic as the situation remains calm for all citizens and the situation is in full control,” a police spokesperson said.
