CAPE TOWN — Judge Nathan Erasmus has found that all three accused Joshlyn Smith’s mothers, “Kelly Smith”, Jakuen ” Boeta Apolis, and Steveno Van Lin. The judge found the state had successfully proven the charges based on consistent witness testimony and the actions of the accused, who had not searched for her missing daughter and remained silent during the trial.
In his ruling, Erasmus said that the broader social obligation to protect children criticized the accused’s lack of action and cooperation. Lorentia “Lens” Lombard, a key witness for the prosecution, claimed that she was affected and affected by drug use, but the judge accepted her and others’ testimony as valid.
Social workers previously flagged Smith addiction and instability, but evidence suggests that she may have sold Josh Lynn due to family pressure to adopt a child.
