After five years of rage and ridiculous laughs, the Bairns could be allowed to make the most of their championship opener on a Friday night in August.
From disco lights to fireworks, they pulled out all the stops – there they didn’t stop.
The campaign began with five games of victory. This includes a FIST victory at Dunfermline’s East End Park over five years, but has made a seamless transition to the second class.
The landmarks of the season – international breaks, first round of the game, festive fixtures – made a bit of noise on the pitch, but it got a lot of excitement as the team remains on the top of the tree.
That exhilaration won yet another notch on February 3rd when former Rangers Burnley and Canadian midfielder homeglow hero Scott Arfield made a spectacular return 15 years after his exit.
“It was complete, it was Rovers’ total Roy,” McKinary said of re-signing the academy products.
“There was a tweet and I got some messages from people who said Scott was saying, ‘This is happening.’
“I was like I was silent, completely silent. It happened, and it was so much talked about.”
His back number 37 and after retiring since the tragic passing of former teammate Craig Gowans, his back number has retired again.
This proved to be the first of an eight-game undefeated run that will lead the Bairns to the final six games with an 11-point advantage.
Take a look at the flashy champagne and send your T-shirt to the printer. Sequential titles began to look like when, not when.
