Anthony Joshua revealed that surgery will be required to resolve the injury to his elbow.
He hopes that this procedure will prevent you from returning to a 6-8 week training entirely.
Joshua hasn’t been boxed since suffering a knockout defeat last September, crushed by IBF heavyweight champion Daniel DuBois.
However, the former unified Titleists are planning to return to sports.
“When do you want me to come back?” Joshua said as he spoke to Dazen. “I’m trying to get my body right, and I actually have to do a little surgery on my elbow.
“A little surgery somewhere in May. Details have been confirmed,” he continued. “It’ll see me coming out of the gym for six or eight weeks. And once I’m healed, I’ll come back.”
Boxing promoter Frank Warren says he will fully support Tyson Fury if he decides to return to the ring – adding that the showdown with Anthony Joshua is a battle that everyone wants to see.
This means Joshua will only box once in 2025.
There is growing speculation that Joshua will ultimately be able to fight longtime rival Tyson Fury.
Fury, who announced his retirement earlier this year, posted footage of himself on social media with trainer Sugar Hill Steward.
Daniel Dubois says that in his rematch with Olexandre Usaik, “he can do better” than his fifth knockout performance against Anthony Joshua.
Promoter Frank Warren told Sky Sports: [if he comes back]. He might want to do that. I’m not going to let him do that. ”
“It all comes down to Tyson. We’re ready,” Joshua promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports. “But there’s no point in calling it that because one man is saying to give the world the biggest battle of boxing. [Fury] I decided to accomplish that.
“[Fury boxing training,] That’s a good sign. I’m sure he’ll get bored soon. I hope he wants to have his biggest fight in boxing. ”

“What else is it?”
Boxing expert and former double-heavy world champion Carl Frampton believes Fury must be back. Joshua is the most likely target.
“It doesn’t look like he’s coming back. Why does he train with Sugar Hill?” Frampton told Sky Sports.
“It must be [for a Joshua] fight. What else is it? ”
Naoya Inoue’s indisputable title defense will be performing live on Live on Sky Sports from 1am on Monday.
