Former French Interior Minister Gerald Dalmanin apologized to Liverpool fans for falsely denounced the chaos at the French Stadet in the 2022 Champions League final in Paris.
Dharmanin, who is now Minister of Justice, admitted that security arrangements for the final between Liverpool and Real Madrid are inadequate and that his previous public comments denounced English fans were a mistake in the reporting that British media has incurred on Monday.
Fans were caught up in a dangerous crowd outside Stade de France before the match, leaving them over 30 minutes late. French police were filmed using tear gas on fans. Fans pleaded for forceful treatment as they were swarmed by pens outside the stadium.
Two days after the match, Dharmanin held a joint press conference with other French ministers, denounced the obstacles for possession of “an English fans” and fake tickets.

He now retracted his comments and called the “The Night’s biggest failure” of his career in an interview with the French legendary show on YouTube.
“What I didn’t appreciate that night was that the real problem came not from English supporters, but from the delinquent that was robbing fans,” he said.
“I didn’t check what was going on properly, so it was my mistake and I succumbed to the idea of preconceived thoughts… the culprit was easy [to designate]apologise to Liverpool fans. Of course they were right [feel upset]. ”
In March, European football lost its bid to abandon the lawsuit brought by hundreds of Liverpool fans brought by hundreds of Liverpool fans who attended the Champions League final due to personal injury caused by chaos outside the stadium.
