NAIROBI – The appeal of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Weitu is set for June 18th after he was denied bail for the second time.

High Court judge Lucy Nyunga has rejected Waitatu’s application for pending bail for 12 years’ conviction.

Waititu had made similar applications, and the same was prohibited by courts of similar jurisdiction.

The court said Waititu could pursue his appeal, and said on June 18, 2025, he instructed the judge to do the same thing as the judge and heard the same thing as the judge.

Weittu was jailed for 12 years after being convicted of receiving corrupt money from Kimbu County as governor.

He was imprisoned along with his wife, contractor James Cheji and former Chief Chief of Luka Wahinya after being convicted by a trail court where Joseph Niziokki was the main side.

Waititu was given an optional fine of sh53.5 million, and his wife was fined Sh5000,000, which was then paid.

The money in question came from a procurement bid for the construction of roads within Kimbu County.
