Nairobi – The Republics of Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania will deliberate on the final choice and preparation for the opening and closing ritual, as well as the first, second and third place playoffs of the upcoming African Countries Championship (Chan) scheduled for August 2025.
Sports ministers from the three countries are expected to close the Minister of Logistics by next Tuesday to ensure that the African Football (CAF) Federation is stepping up preparations and that the East African trio are ready to hold a prestigious tournament.
Chief Cabinet Secretary of Kenya Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports, Hong. Salim Mvurya reaffirmed the country’s preparations to hold both rituals and equipment for matches.
He highlighted Kenya’s robust infrastructure investment and a well-established event ecosystem.
“We have already paid for Chan’s hosting rights. Our assigned venues meet the required standards and are ready to support the extensive logistics operations needed for such a world-class event,” CS Mvurya said.
He further highlighted the Kenya multi-agency approach, consolidating various government departments into local organising committees to perfectly match the operational and experiential requirements of the CAF.
“We have brought together interdisciplinary teams within the organising committee to adhere to CAF guidelines, just as we did during the CHAN draw.

These feelings were echoed by Hon. Uganda’s Minister of Sports, Peter Ogwan and Hong.
Hamishi Mwinjuma, Deputy Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports of the United Republic of Tanzania, reiterated the country’s joint preparation and commitment to providing a unified and seamless Chan 2025.
The three countries also discussed cross-border promotion measures to ensure smooth movements for players, officials and fans.
Among the proposals is the introduction of “Pamoja Visa” or special multiple entry paths to enhance local mobility and coordinate a unified security framework.
CAF Executive Director Mosengo-omba highlighted the importance of completing the hosting arrangement, saying, “Venue and logistics confirmations allow advance teams to begin ground preparation for the August championship.
CAF is fully committed to supporting Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania in turning this historic joint bid into an overwhelming success. ”
The upcoming Chan 2025 tournaments exist as strong evidence of regional unification and strength of shared ambition.
Through close collaborations, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania are preparing to host world-class soccer events with lasting legacy to encourage future continental cooperation, as well as showcasing the possibilities of Y and Easton East Africa.
