Joseph Aroba claims that the discovery of his lawyer, Wahab Situ, reveals something more serious about the Mobado case.

The late Nigerian singer Ileliorwa Aroba, father of Mobado, Joseph Aroba, revealed allegations of embezzlement of funds donated to seek justice for his son on Thursday.

On a recent Tiktoclive on Thursday, Aroba addressed allegations that he and his brother embezzled funds donated through public Gohhundme, who is seeking justice for Mobado.

Mr. Aloba stated the total amount he received and firmly denied the charges. He said, “Mobado’s father, I first gave the pathologist N16 million, and later spent nearly a further N2 million.” “If the person I paid can expose this, you should not believe me,” he added.

Contrary to the general speculation that he may have received N100 million through the GoFundMe campaign, Aloba has reiterated that the Access Bank account used for the donation has never exceeded N18 million.

He said: “I said I paid N112 million and I said to you today and believe there is nothing that changed what I said to you before. I told you how I used it.

“Some people asked me if we wouldn’t pay a pathologist. Even pathologists had already said that all the money would be paid to him when asked,” he said.

Account Statement

Aloba told the history of spending and argued that money cannot be hidden in an account that is transparent and responsible for tracking.

He said, “The money in the account is not a secret. There is a record of how the account was entered and used. That’s what you should ask me. On several occasions I have issued an account statement but they have deleted some transactions.

“Account statements are readily available upon request. Since the contribution began, the money in the access account has never reached N10 million, which has reached N18 million.

“What we all agreed to ask is that I spent money, so if there is any misunderstanding, ask me, he declared.

Aloba described such claims as unfounded in response to the insinuation that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) determined he wanted. He explained: “Money is causing conflict even between the brothers, so they wouldn’t say they’re looking at N 100 million in Baba’s account, the EFCC felt he wanted, that’s what I heard.”

Court decision

On March 19, 2025, the newspaper reported that Aroba publicly refused the court’s decision to declare the defendant in the death of his son.

Aloba, who worked on the lawsuit over his son’s death, said, “Now, the coroner expects the outcome of what we paid, but the judge is currently on vacation. Everything they’ve recorded will be revealed when he resumes and knows the next step.

Regarding the progress of the autopsy and legal case, Aloba expressed concern as the autopsy results violated people’s expectations. He said the results of the autopsy are more important than the public’s expectations.

He said, “Mainly about pathologists. As you’ve heard, the results (automous examinations) didn’t come out as we expected. He insisted that it wasn’t what we expected, but the actual work he did is essential.

Autopsy Reliability

But speaking of the authenticity of the autopsy conducted by private pathologists, Aloba said, “Before that, it was time to say some words about what my lawyer, Wahab Situ (SAN), is secretly doing. My lawyer ensured that the pathologist’s results were better than those carried out by the government (the police).

“We plead not to us that we are not angry, regardless of how much we have contributed to the pathologist’s outcome, but the outcome did not return what we wanted.”

Relying on the findings of his lawyers, Aroba argued that the issue would become more serious and the mystery would be revealed. “I assure you that God will save justice that we seek justice that seeks Mobado. The incident will be postponed until Friday and I know it will be fruitful.”

Additionally, he spoke in his recent song, released in a court case for the death of his son.

Aloba claimed that his song was a “revival song” and that no one was targeted. “They said it was like a malicious, abusive song. I made it something I could respond to to understand that it was a revival song, but that depends on the mind that everyone was receiving it,” he revealed.

Mobado, a burgeoning music star and former Marian music signator, passed away on September 12, 2023 under controversial circumstances. Since then, his family and fans have sought clarity and justice amidst conflicting reports, public protests and official silence.

As the coroner’s investigation continues, we will now turn our attention to future court dates. Aloba believes it will shed light on the unsolved mystery of her son’s death.

Since the end of Mobado in September 2023, his family has been unhappy with the sharing of his assets with the father of his son, Liam Aroba.

While seeking justice for his son’s death, Aroba sought DNA testing for the late Mobado’s son, and saw it as a disguise of his actual interest in Mobado’s property by Omounmi, Mobado’s widow.
