Like other states in the southeastern part of Nigeria, recent Anambra states have seen frequent attacks by armed people worsen security.
Anambra State Police Chief Ikioye Otzga says President Bora Tinubu’s hitchfree visit to Anambra State has confirmed that the southeastern state is safe.
Orutugu praised security operatives on Thursday evening for ensuring security improvements during the President’s visit to Anambra state.
Details of the commissioner’s speech were included in a statement forwarded during the Premium Era by state police spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga.
The newspaper previously reported that Tinubu visited the state on Thursday and commissioned several projects executed by Governor Charles Sold.
“Anambra is safe now.”
Police Chief Ikenga said the commissioner also welcomed residents of Anambra state because they were working with security operatives to ensure safety during the president’s visit.
A spokesperson said the police chief also confirmed that “Anambra) state was safe and that he witnessed the wedding of hitchless, acquired high-ranking officials and stakeholders in Ihaila, hosting Tinubu in the state.
He said the State Police Command believes that prioritizing security coordination and cooperation is a “proactive approach” to address security concerns and promote a safer and safer environment for everyone.

Like other states southeastern Nigeria, recent frequent attacks by armed individuals have made security worse in Anambra state.
In many cases, attacks are targeted at security agencies, government officials and facilities.
Hundreds of people have been killed or accumulated, while several others have been injured in some of such attacks in the area.
Ihiala is one of the communities that have witnessed some of the fatal attacks in the state.
To confirm the growing anxiety, Governor Soludo signed the law on the Anambra State Homeland Security Bill 2025 in January, establishing Agunechemba as the state’s vigilante group.
The Nigerian government has repeatedly accused Biafra (IPOB) outlawed indigenous people of being responsible for deadly attacks in the southeast.
However, the group has repeatedly denied involvement in the attack.
The IPOB is a group leading the independent state of Biafra and wants to be carved from parts of the Southeast and North and South Nigeria.
