American Point Guard Obadian Noel says he has “unfinished business” when he returns to APR ahead of the 2025 Bar.
Noel, 25, starred APR in the BAL 2024 edition at the Sahara Conference in Dakar, Senegal.
Fans in April still remember his incredible performance in Dakar. Among them was the buzzer beater he scored against Tunisian giant Us Monastir, and APR gave him a significant victory.
His return to the Army came when the team was finishing the 2025 Bar’s final roster. He joined three other additions: Rwandan forwards Dylan Shomer and Sano Lutatica, and American small forward Dane Miller Jr.
“I’m here for Baru season 5. The reason I’m here is because I feel like I’m in an unfinished business since last year, so I’m looking forward to it,” he said in an interview after joining the team.
Noel is known as “Mutabaji” for his heroes in BAL in 2024 and is a dynamic guard known for his powerful offensive and defensive abilities.
Standing 1.93 metres, he brought first-class experiences from the NBA G League and played for teams such as the Indiana Mad Ali and the Westchester Knicks.
Meanwhile, SIWSS-based Rwandan Starshomer can operate as both a forward and a centre, making his debut in BAL following his transition to APR.
He said, “I’m really excited to play and I want everyone to come out and support.”
The APR was placed at the Nile Conference, with hints arising on May 17th and ended in Kigali on May 25th. They compete against Al Ali Tripoli in Libya, South Africa, which was created by basketball, and lightning in Nairobi, Kenya.
Generally, BAL 2025 features 12 teams pooled at three regular season meetings, including the Nile Conference, the Sahara Conference and the Kalahari Conference.
The first two meetings have already been played, and now the Nile Conference teams are arriving in Kigali this week to compete in BK Arena.
