The 15-year-old Chipinge boy was jailed 12 years later after being found guilty of raping two minors.
The teen faced two counts of rape and was found guilty of both counts.
For each count, he was declared six years.
However, he escaped custody as the sentences were executed simultaneously and completely stopped.
Prosecutors proved in February 2025 that in the village of Sazunza in Chief Mutema, Chipinge, the criminal raped two female boys who lived in the same village at the age of six.
“The criminal chased the first complainant to the water source, grabbed her and dragged her into the bushes.
“Then he forced her clothes off and raped her,” the court heard.
The offender used the same trick on the second victim on unknown dates of the same month and location.
The victim reported to his parents, and an investigation was conducted, leading to the arrest of the offender.
“This case is a reminder of the dangers our children face and the urgent need for vigilance and protection. Let us continue to advocate for the safety and well-being of all children in Zimbabwe,” the NPA said in a statement.
