The Carolina Hurricanes’ quest for the Stanley Cup is heading for the Eastern Conference Finals, with the team celebrating accordingly on social media.
The Hurricanes advanced after sending conference top-seeded Washington Capitals in five games, winning the series in a dramatic 3-1 Game 5 victory with less than two minutes left in the third term, followed by Andrei Svechnikov’s goal.
After Game 5, the Carolina social media team offered several jabs with defeated enemies.
The first troll came shortly after the series-deciding game was finally played on Thursday, aiming for Washington’s mascot. The Hurricane posts a photo of a computer keyboard with the “shift” and “caplock” keys removed and features the caption “No Caps”.

Carolina also took shots in the Capitals’ hometown of Washington, DC, with people criticizing its theatrical style.
But the cruelest troll was saved on Friday. Citing a post from Washington’s Dulles International Airport early in the morning, the Hurricane said there will be additional trips to Cancun, Mexico, a popular holiday destination.
I heard there were additional flights to Cancun today! https://t.co/todcnf3mn1
