Two-time defending Stanley Cup champions, the Florida Panthers, re-signed forward Mackie Samoskevich on Thursday to coincide with their one-year contract, the team announced.
According to multiple reports, the deal is worth $775,000, the league’s lowest.
The 22-year-old Samoskevich played his first full season with Florida in 2024-25, scoring 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists), 12 blocks, 32 blocks, 32 blocks and 134 hits in 72 regular season games.

According to the Panthers, his 15 goals are the most seventh in the club’s history as a rookie, with five goals being the winner of the game, tied team lead Carter Werhege.
He also made one assist in four playoff games as the Panthers were repeated as Stanley Cup champions.
“McKee is a talented young forward who demonstrated skills and maturity well beyond his age in his first full NHL season,” said Bill Jeet, president of the Panthers, Hockey Business and General Manager. “He showed off his ability to drill holes in our lineup and find success in this past season, a testament to both his play and his character.
Samoskevich also appeared in seven regular season games from 2023-24.
Florida took Samoskevich 24th overall in the 2021 NHL Draft from the University of Michigan.
