A student at the University of Massachusetts Boston University was not arrested every day for allegedly burning a Tesla dealer run by Elon Musk, the world’s wealthiest man.
But 19-year-old Owen McIntier found himself in this unique location… The Justice Department announced after they were arrested by FBI agents on the UMass Boston campus and appeared in the first courthouse on Friday.
According to federal criminal charges, McIntier was charged with unlawful possession of unregistered, destructive equipment and malicious damages from a fire in property used in interstate commercial.
The complaint says McInteer was in his hometown of Kansas City during spring break. On March 17th, I cruised to a Tesla dealership and parked apart in front of my house, a block away.
McIntyre then walked to the dealership and was said to have set fire before he returned to his car and drove.
The complaint says officers discovered smoke rising from the cyber truck, checked the issue and found a Molotov cocktail consisting of apple cider vinegar bottles and rags.
The federal government said McIntyre was identified with the help of witnesses and videos, and captured them as “wearing dark stream clothes and a big hat.”
McIntire is said to have dumped a clear hat nearby, and the FBI has recovered it and used it as evidence and used it for DNA testing.
Additionally, McIntyre was photographed with luggage inside Kansas City International Airport and placed them in the area around the time of the incident.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondy said the criminal activity of McIntyre’s suspects was extremely expensive… It caused damage to two cyber trucks and two charging stations, all of which exceeded $200,000.
